Makuvire supports small businesses with compliance and accounting
Gabriel Makuvire is a Zimbabwean entrepreneur, business consultant and co-founder of Zen Mountain Consultancy and Zen Mountain Group, whose work focuses on helping individuals and small businesses with compliance, accounting systems and business administration.
His journey into entrepreneurship was inspired by seeing talented people and businesses struggle with systems, compliance and access to technology.
Coming from an accounting and business background, Makuvire realised he could use his skills to develop practical solutions that make businesses more efficient and sustainable while creating opportunities for young people and contributing to Africa’s growth.
Speaking to The List Awards by Identities Media Holdings, Makuvire said his work was driven by a desire to create practical solutions for businesses.
“Coming from an accounting and business background, I realised I could use my skills to create practical solutions that make businesses more efficient and sustainable,” he said
Makuvire has contributed to his community by helping individuals and small businesses with company registration, tax compliance, accounting systems and business administration. He has also supported young people through mentorship, professional guidance and community initiatives focused on education and opportunity.
Through the United Generations Foundation, Makuvire has been involved in efforts to support children and young people with education and essential needs, “My focus is creating practical opportunities that help people become more independent and build sustainable futures,” he said.
He is passionate about helping businesses build strong foundations, operate professionally and create sustainable opportunities, while contributing to initiatives supporting young people and education.
As a semi-finalist under the Business Impact Award for The List Awards 2026, Makuvire said the recognition represented the journey, hard work and impact behind his work. “Being a finalist means recognition of the journey, hard work, and impact behind my work,” he said.
He said the recognition had motivated him to continue building, serving his community and creating opportunities.
“I am grateful for the platform and humbled to be recognised alongside other inspiring individuals,” he said.
Looking ahead, Makuvire said his focus would remain on growth, impact and building meaningful businesses regardless of the awards outcome. Makuvire added that, whether he win or not, the future remains about growth, impact, and building meaningful businesses.
He said the recognition had strengthened his commitment to keep learning, creating opportunities, supporting his community and becoming a better leader.
