Women Empowerment Creates Opportunities For Young Girls In Technology
Caroline Nyaga is a teacher who has witnessed how limited access to technology, mentorship, and opportunities could prevent young girls from discovering their potential in Science, Technology, Engeneering and Mathematics (STEM). It is against this background that Caroline felt the inspiration to establish the “Women in STEAM”.
The initiative addresses some of the social issues which include creating spaces where girls and young women can learn, experiment, innovate and envision themselves as future scientists, engineers and technology leaders.
She is also a semi-finalists under the Pan African Role Model Award for The List Awards 2026. This category celebrates an artist who has consistently used their creative talents to address pressing social issues across Southern and East Africa including but not limited to human rights, inequality, positive cultural transformation, democracy, governance and accountability.
With her creative talent Caroline has reached more than 3, 000 learners through Women in STEAM Initiative. She equipps girls, young people and teachers with STEM, digital and 21st-century skills. She has also the Community Champions Programme, she also founded “Hagar Rising – Betrayed Not Broken” which promotes awareness, hope and support for women facing betrayal and separation, encouraging them to seek help and choose life.
